British Judo Association

AWE Judo Club is a member of the British Judo Association.

BJA are the main National Governing body for Judo in the UK and responsible for providing support and maintaining standards within the member clubs.

The Coaches are all qualified as coaches by the BJA and attend regular revalidation events run by the BJA to maintain these qualifications.

New players are insured for the first 4 weeks of training after which a licence must be purchased which insures them whilst training for 1 or 2 years depending on membership chosen.

Players that wish to Grade or enter competitions must become a member of the BJA and purchase a licence from them. This licence also provides insurance for training and competing.

Membership includes many other perks such as magazine subscriptions and diaries for the children. Please refer to the Membership form for a full list.

Since April 2016 There are now 2 types of Membership running. The site should help you select the correct one based on age.

JudoKids is for those under 8 years old and details can be found at

Standard Membership is for those over 8 years old including Seniors and allows for players to take part in competitions etc.

If you live or come from another county you can use this on your       licence however you will be excluded from  any Hampshire Closed events that take place and be unable to obtain a place on the Hampshire Squad.
